The X Forged series is considered by many as designed for tour players and better amateurs. On the other hand, the Apex series, which is forged from 1025 carbon steel and features a classic look and compact shape, is engineered for the best players in the world.

The same 20V grooves found on X Forged are part of Apex MB, which means it is easier for players to create a combo iron set.

Highly-noticeable design/features of Callaway X-Forged 2018:

• The familiar curved edge that was first seen on the Apex Pro 16 Irons
• X-Forged cavity is clean with the needed amount of peripheral weighting, making it a bit more forgiving than the Apex MB blade.
• The use of Callaway’s 20V grooves on the face and a more refined head are aimed to optimize control and reduce the likelihood of fliers from the rough.

• A more classic muscle back with a full width curved backside, replacing the previous more centralized Y shaped muscle
• The face features Callaway’s 20V grooves, engineered for consistent spin from all conditions and reduce the effect of fliers for more control
