Technology 

The ST-X 220 driver from Mizuno has a high-strength face that is more flexible and has a fine-grain structure to withstand a powerful, long distance swing. All along the club face, the multi-thickness CORTEC face increases ball speed to just within the legal limit. Because the face is constructed of titanium, it is both stronger and more flexible, allowing for a thinner overall face and greater spring-back for powerful impact. 

The extreme rear and center of the head each have a new stainless steel weight placed beneath the sole surface to significantly increase forgiveness without reducing spin performance.

For a slight draw bias, the center of gravity is positioned farther back in the head along the X-axis. For better launch and mid-spin, its 460cc head volume is move a little bit lower to the ground, lining up square to just a little bit closed for a profile that improves play.
