Description
VENTUS
Shaft Performance Characteristics
The exceptionally engineered Ventus is designed to significantly tighten shot dispersion and maximize ball speed especially on off-center shots. Ventus is a Tour-inspired profile and the first to include Fujikura’s all-new VeloCore Technology in an accelerated taper, ultra-stiff tip profile. Maximum energy transfer from the tip section boosts the clubhead’s performance and a straight taper design enhances loading and feel.

First, JD did a GREAT job of building my Ventus Blue 6X shaft to my exact specifications I needed for my Titleist TSi3 head (.5″ tipped, 44.75″ playing length, shaft logos aligned to the adapter position I play my driver at). I highly recommend JD’s Clubs. I saw immediate improvement over my previous gamer shaft. My only goals with the Ventus Blue was to reduce spin a touch and tighten up dispersion; it did both exactly to plan. I saw 1-2mph increases in ball speed, lower spin (about 300-400rpm’s less), about 1 degree less in launch angle (the only downside as I would have liked to keep it at 12 rather than 11), a very repeatable shot shape (power fade), and my misses on the toe maintained a majority of the ball speed and stayed on line better than my previous shaft. I was fitted into the AD DI 6x when I was averaging 110mph club speed and 164mph ball speed on Trackman. I love that shaft, recommend it, and still play the AD DI 7x in my fairway and AD DI 85X in my hybrid. The AD DI 6x outperformed the Ventus Blue 6x at that club head speed during my fitting late last Fall (11 yards more carry!). But after overspeed training for 4 months, I am now averaging 115-117mph club speed and 170-173mph ball speed and searching for something with a similar profile but slightly stiffer from butt to tip. I could have gone up in weight class or tried the TX in the AD DI but wanted to give the Ventus a try again given the current craze. So I went back to the Ventus Blue and it fits much better now. The moral of the story is get fit. And don’t fall into the longer shaft, more distance trap. I went shorter and found more yards because my efficiency/smash factor is much higher with the center contact I am making with a 44.75″ shaft compared to today’s stock 45.5″ shafts.
